Nasal polyps are growths on the tissues within the nose and sinuses, often shaped like teardrops and formed in groups or clusters. While the cause of nasal polyps has not been fully determined, the development of nasal polyps appears to be highly associated with chronic rhinosinusitis. While small nasal polyps may not cause symptoms, large polyps or groups of nasal polyps can often obstruct the nasal cavity. This could lead to symptoms including:

    Nasal congestion
    Stuffy nose
    Nasal blockage
    Excessive mucus/drainage
    Postnasal drip
    Runny nose (Rhinorrhea)
Diminished sense of smell and taste
    Snoring

Based on detailed and personalized diagnostic evaluations, our providers may recommend treatment plans for nasal polyposis that include comprehensive allergy testing, sleep studies, home care modifications, and medications including biologics, sprays, decongestants, and antihistamines. If treatment plans through medications and lifestyle changes are not sufficient, we may discuss your candidacy for procedural options including in-balloon sinuplasty, turbinate reduction, and polypectomy.
