OCEANN ENT
PROPEL is a sinus implant indicated to deliver a steroid drug locally to the ethmoid sinus and maintain the sinus opening in patients 18 years of age or older after sinus surgery. Patients allergic to the drug (mometasone furoate) or ingredients of the implant should not receive PROPEL. It is not known if the implant is safe and effective in women that are pregnant or nursing.
Common side effects include infection, headache, and nose bleeds. Risks related to the implant include pain/pressure, movement of the implant (within or out of the sinus), and potential side effects of steroids.
The PROPEL sinus stent is placed in the sinus after surgery to promote healing and reduce the need for additional post-operative procedures.
